He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Herman, Fay Johnson, Willard C. Short and Virginia Phillips. He is survived by: his parents, Karen Johnson Hatzell of Middletown and Will Short of Thomasville; his friend Florence Silvey; his stepparents, William T. Hatzell and Janet Short; and his aunt Linda Hubbard of St. Augustine, Fla.. He is also survived by cousins, dear friends and dedicated caregivers.
