He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Shaffer, and Nora Shaffer, Sr. (Gray); his sisters, Mary Etta Shaffer and Elnora Shaffer; and also Camden.

He is survived by: his wife Bonita "Bonnie" Shaffer (Kelly); his children, Roger Shaffer of Somerset, PA, Joyce Lepley of Meyersdale, Lisa Christner (Randy) of Meyersdale, Tammy Edwards (Dave) of Meyersdale, Karen Brown (Charlie) of Meyersdale and Amy Pletz of Clarksburg, PA; and his pet Tiny. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
