He was predeceased by: his parents, Galen Mason and Lena Mason (Stein); and his siblings, Eugene Mason, Mansel Mason and Loretta Paul.
He is survived by: his wife Penelope D. "Penny" Mason (Yoder); his children, Richard Mason (Carolyn) of Springs, PA, David Mason (Katrina) of Frostburg, MD, John Mason (Becky), Rebecca Jacobs (Barry) of Altoona, PA, Carol Haines (Dan) of Hopewell, PA and Linda Schmadel (Francis) of Blairsville, PA; his grandchildren, Matthew Mason (Jessica), Emily Johnson (Dan), Kevin Mason, Erin Zimmerman (Nik), Joshua Mason (Kristan), Kelly Pennabaker (Wyatt), Hannah Shafer (Zach), Amanda Mason, Rachel Levesque, Christian Levesque and Samuel Mason; his great grandchildren, Bryce, Blake, Chase, Charlotte, Lettie and Oliver; and his pet Sassy.
