He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Backensto and La Vaun Kohli Backensto. He is survived by: his wife Betty L. Backensto; his children, Jason Backensto of Mercersburg, Jodie Densmore (Henry) of Santa Fe, NM. and Mark Backensto (Rose) of Phoenix, AZ.; his grandson Zachary Backensto of Ft. Wainwright, AK.; his sister Rebecca Marsh (Jeffrey) of St. Louis, MO.; his niece Kohli Flick (J. T.); and his great-nephew Ari Flick.
