She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Ankney and Estella Shaffer Ankney; her husband James F. Hess; and her siblings, Helen Flickinger, Mabel Ulery, Marie Hoffer, Clyde, Clair, Dean, Walter and Merle Ankney.
She is survived by: her siblings, Don Ankney of Rector and Loretta DelSignore of Latrobe. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
