He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert M. Vanaman and Sara Vanaman; and his sister Sonya Anne Shanahan. He is survived by: his wife Susan Vanaman; his sons, Chris Vanaman (Joanna), Kevin Vanaman and Shawn Vanaman; his grandsons, Christopher, Andrew and Zachary; his great grandchild Nash; and his sisters, Sheryl Habeger (Butch) and Suzanne Vanaman. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
