Ykema of Media, Pennsylvania, born in Ogilvie, Minnesota, who passed away on January 11, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. A memorial service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM and on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM. Viewing was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Logan-Videon Funeral Home (2001 Sproul Rd, Broomall, PA 19008).

“I worked with John as a power engineer for the Navy. He was a true giant in our industry who kept contributing right into his late 80's. His contributions to the Navy are immeasurable. He was also a wonderful, caring person who was a joy to talk to. I am lucky to have worked with him. My deepest sympathies to his family. Steve Swindler”
