He was predeceased by: his parent Charles Messer; his former wives, Florence Messer (Racine) and Janet Linous Krebs Messer; and his siblings, Charles Messer, Jr and Phyllis Zelasco.
He is survived by: his parent Blanche Messer (Wiggins); his children, John Messer, Jr. (Linda) of Media and Timothy Messer (Linda) of Johnstown; his brother Richard Messer (Kate) of Pequea Twp; and his grandchildren, Victoria, Madeline, Abigail, Juliet, Thomas, Samuel, William, Jonathan and Margeaux. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
