With solemn reverence, we commemorate Susan Eckerd of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, born in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, whose life came to an end on September 18, 2024 at the age of 81, leaving behind cherished memories. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leithead Bailey and Phoebe Irene Bailey (Shimp); and her brother Eugene Bailey. She is survived by: her husband Ronald "Ron" Charles Eckerd; her children, Kent Eckerd (Jill Brubaker) of Mechanicsburg and Karen Schmick (Brian Schmick) of Dillsburg; her grandchildren, Adam Schmick, Zachary Schmick and Kelsey Eckerd; her niece Michelle Kearns; and her nephew Greg Bailey.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 27th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM and from 12:15 PM to 1:45 PM at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church (132 E Main St, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055). A memorial service was held on Friday, September 27th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, September 27th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Food and Fellowship. A graveside service was held on Friday, September 27th 2024 from 2:15 PM to 2:45 PM at the Mechanicsburg Cemetery (137 W Marble St, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055).
