We are sad to announce that on October 13, 2023, at the age of 95, Ruth Elizabeth (Shoemaker) Kumler of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, born in Norristown, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence H. Shoemaker and Sallie Tillarah Shoemaker (Gruber); her husband Francis "Frank" R. Kumler; her sons, Norman D. Kumler and Richard M. Kumler; and her siblings, Norman J. Shoemaker and H. Tillarah Shoemaker.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Michael, Benjamin (Serene), Shane, Jacob, Jessica (Mike), Zachary (Heather) and Amanda. She is also survived by her eight great grandchildren.
Salutatorian of her class at Liberty High School in Bethlehem, she graduated Pi Beta Kappa from Gettysburg College, received fellowship from the General Electric Corporation and Nation Science Foundation and her MEd from Penn State.
