He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Jerome and Margaret Mary Sweeney (Steele); his daughter Michelle Sweeney; and his brother Charles Sweeney. He is survived by: his wife Joanne Sweeney (Buck); his children, Allison Lininger of Harrisburg, Timothy M. Sweeney of Harrisburg, Pamela C. Mowdy (Darin) of Clarksville, TN, Robin C. Geiger (Pete) of Landisburg, Kevin P. Sweeney (Kendra) of New Cumberland and Brenda Sweeney of Indianapolis, IN; and his grandchildren, Mandy McNatt, Kyle Burchard (Kristen), Tony Sweeney, Becka Sweeney, Steven Pianis (Nina), Joey Pianis (Kiley), Jill Gamble (Jason), Kaitlyn Swam (Scott), Sydney Sweeney-Platts (Rick) and Jessica Tellstrom (Mitchell). He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
