He is survived by: his parents, Clorinda (Clo) and Richard Barton (Dick); his children, Niomi Barton and Matteo Barton (Shannon); his fiancé Shannon Ergott; his partner's son Ian; and his brother John Barton.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his honor to the ALS United Mid Atlantic.
