He was predeceased by: his parents, Solomon C. Shetron and Mary Shetron (Koellner); and his brother David E. Shetron. He is survived by: his siblings, Harvey E. Shetron (Judy) of Carlisle and Nancy L. Pechart (Ernest) of Mechanicsburg. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Melvin may be made to his church, Crossroads Community Church, 1425 South Market Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
