With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Jane (Barth) Bishard of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 12, 2025 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Llywelyn Barth and Gladys Elmyra Barth (Royer); her husband Robert Vernon Bishard; her children, Bruce E. Bishard and Brenda Thumma; and her sister Barbara Urey.
She is survived by: her children, Rev. Robert "Bob" Vernon Bishard Jr. (Carole) of Marysville, PA, Benita Zuvich (Jeff Austin) of Mechanicsburg, PA, William "Bill" Bishard (Theresa) and John "Ben" Bishard (Julianne) of Mechanicsburg, PA; her grandchildren, Christina Bishard Barnhart (Matthew), Robert Dill (Alesha), Sarah Dill, Aaron Zuvich, Alicia Claypool (Chad), Matthew Zuvich (Ashlee), Mandy Bates (Cody), Jessica Bishard and Autumn Bishard Lopez (Justin); her great grandchildren, Keith Robbins III, Lilyanna Dill, Jaide Dill, Mia Dill, Liam Zuvich, Ariana Zuvich, Collin Zuvich, Easton Bates and Alexis Bates; and her brother William John Barth.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Buhrig Funeral and Cremation, LTD. (37 E Main St, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (310 Hertzler Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055). A burial will be held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery (1313 S York St, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055). A reception will be held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 1:15 PM to 3:15 PM at the Open House (25 E Main St, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055).
