He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Habel and Apalonia Habel (Zettelmayer); and his siblings, Jacob "Jack" Habel, Ann Habel Uhl, Elizabeth Habel Seebacher and Leona "Nootsie" Habel Machnick.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Jane McCandless; his children, Robert Peter Habel, Jr. (Carol Edwards) and Cynthia Kay Habel Schwab (Mark Stephen) of Meadville; his daughter-in-law Cathy Lynn Lucas Habel of Fredonia; his grandchildren, Robert Rocky Habel (Nikki Gilson), Jacob Paul Habel (Ashley Johnson), Cara Jane Schwab Griffith (Matthew) and Molly Kay Schwab Leech (Dylan); his great grandchildren, Jackson Robert Habel, Cooper Lee Habel, Evangelina Rose Habel and Cosette Joelle Habel; and his siblings-in-law, James Thomas McCandless (Paula Ahrens), Paul Richard McCandless, Jr. (Deborah Vorel) and Alice Kay McCandless Houston (William). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Calendar Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home and Cremation Services (404 Chestnut St, Meadville, PA 16335). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Calendar Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. (404 Chestnut St, Meadville, PA 16335).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Bob's memory to Hospice of Crawford County, 766 Liberty St., Meadville, PA 16335 or Bob and Doris have requested that you pay it forward with an act of kindness.
