He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Ford and Alice Newman; and his siblings, Charles Newman and Charlotte Newman. He is survived by: his close friend Karen Garlington; his children, Nathaniel Boone, Corry Butts, Ronald Garlington and Keshia Butts (Antonio Deseignoria); his siblings, Mitchell Newman, Michael Newman, Ralph Newman (Sharon), Jerry Newman, Sherman Ford, William Ford and Natalie Johnson; and his grandchildren, Tasmiere Butts (Michael Fisher), Keira Frederick (Gilbert Byrd), Keshiyah Pope and Nateyana Boone. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
