He was predeceased by: his parents, John Howard and MaryAnn Kabot McCarl; his former wife Sandra Peterson; his granddaughter Emmy McCarl; and his nephews, Paul and Greg McCarl.
He is survived by: his wife Linda McCarl; his daughter Kristi McCarl of Centerville; his stepdaughter Jerilyn Butler (Norm) of Ohio; his sons, Ryan McCarl, Sr. (Jessica) of Titusville and John McCarl, Jr. (Carlene) of Townville; his stepson Todd Peterson (Stacie) of Erie; and his siblings, Jill Pratt and James McCarl (Joseph McCarl) of Guys Mills. He is also survived by sixteen grand children and nine great grand children.
