With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James B. Townsend in Meadville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 6, 2021 at the age of 87. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James B. Townsend to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Townsend and Marie Townsend; and his siblings, Dean Townsend of Alabama, Bill Townsend of Ohio and Marcia Buxton of California.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his sister Jackie Trefney of California; his children, Lisa Chess (Kevin) of Ohio and David Townsend (Wendy) of Ohio; his stepgrandson Brendan Chess of Ohio; and his grandson John David Townsend (Julie) of Ohio.

A great memory was driving in the limo...with the FBI hat in view on the console....not to mention landing an airplane on it's nose. His caregiving to the stray cats that landed at his door, is legendary. He will be missed. A good man. Rest in Peace, dear Jim.”
