He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Nies and Alice Nies (Weiland); and his siblings, Mary Ann Cecconello and Charles Nies. He is survived by: his children, Megan N. Nies of Meadville, Daniel J. Nies of Meadville and Joey A. Nies of Meadville; his siblings, Patricia Tatman (Greg) of Meadville, Arthur Nies (Karen) of Mission, TX and Ronald Nies of Prospect Park; and the mother of his children Karen Nies of Meadville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
