He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin and Faye Powell, Sr. (Seley); his siblings, Beverly Stanley and Melvin Powell, Jr.; and his brothers-in-law, Al Shay and Stanley Shay.
He is survived by: his wife Rose M. Shay; his children, Daniel Powell (Rose Ann) of Saegertown, Jestine Urquhart (Robert) of Saegertown and Tammy Moore (Allen) of Meadville; his foster daughter Karen Kriner of Wattsburg; his siblings, Evelyn Horne of Atlantic, Helen Sullivan of Townville, Joyce Powell of Meadville, Sharon Bailey (Don) of Conneaut Lake, Linda Riorden (Bob) of Meadville, Margaret Baker (Ron) of Saegertown, Robert "Bob" Powell (Patty) of Meadville and Richard Powell of Texas; and his sisters-in-law, Grace Wagner of Meadville and Linda Mancelli of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great grandsons, a great granddaughter.
