He was predeceased by: his wife Darlene H. Welty (Horwedel); his daughter Beth Gosnell; and his parents, John Welty and Elizabeth Welty (Wolf). He is survived by: his children, John Welty (Paula), Richard A. Welty, Jr. (Angie) and LuAnne Higgins (Junior). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
