He is survived by: his wife Carol Jean DePaoli Straka; his daughter Tara Straka Galano (Gregory) of New York; his brothers, Edward S. Straka (Lori) of Haysville and Randell E. Straka (Kathy) of Oro Valley, Arizona; his stepchildren, Amy Miller (Bob) of Canonsburg and James Paulick (Melanie) of Los Angeles, California; his grandchildren, Vivian Irene and Alexander Charles; his stepgrandchildren, Sophia, Jacob, Mary, Scarlett, Roman and William; his niece Deandra Kistler; and his nephews, Luke and Hunter Straka.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorials to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Canonsburg, in John's name.
