He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey E. Dixon, Sr. and Gertrude E. Lightner Dixon Roman; his stepson John Gallagher; and his brothers, Harvey E. Dixon, Jr., William Dixon, Lloyd Dixon, Clifford Dixon and Roy Dixon.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth A. Taylor Dixon; his children, Ronald Robert Dixon, Jr., Cheryl Ann Lowery, Diane Lockhart (Carl) and Timothy Dixon (Heather Birmingham); and his stepchildren, Richard Gallagher (Kimberly), Brenda Gaydos (Dan) and Kevin Gallagher. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
