He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Roy Childers, Jr. and Edith Childers (Thompson); and his siblings, Lee Roy "Tinker" Childers, Cindy Criswell and Marina Childers.

He is survived by: his wife Melinda Jill Childers (Freeman); his children, Anna Kimberly of Washington, Valerie Childers of Pittsburgh, Nicholas and Audrey Childers; and his brothers, Roland "Rocky" Childers of Blythedale, Chris Childers (Sue) of Sutersville and Glenn Childers (George) of Elizabeth Township. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great-nephews.
