He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Michel and Marie Michel; and his siblings, Gregory Michel and Barbara Bascovsky. He is survived by: his fiancée Marsha L. DeWitt; his nieces, Tommie Holl (George) and Marnie Kondas (Michael); and his great-nieces, Ryan Albright (Timothy), Madison Holl, Alexa and Zoe Kondas.
