It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of George Shaytar (McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania), who passed away on April 20, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Shaytar and Anna Shaytar; and his siblings, Andrew, Michael, Alexander, Esther, Harry, Florence, Anna, William, Nicholas, John, Stephen and James.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy M. Shaytar (Kraynak); and his son George M. Shaytar.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church.

“I have fond memories of George growing up in the bottoms and I was good friends of younger brother Jim. I remember George because he was in my brother Justin's class. George was clearly a great athlete especially in football which I think took a toll on his body . he dazzled me with his football and also basketball skills. the Shaytar's were a wonderful family that I have wonderful memories of and always will. may the good lord bless you and keep you, till we meet again.”
