He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schmitt and Dorothy Schmitt (Guenther); his parents-in-law, Richard and Catherine Havern; and his siblings-in-law, Thomas Lewis, Donna, Bob Eckhardt of Cape Coral and Richard Havern.
He is survived by: his wife Diane L. Schmitt (Havern); his son Douglas Schmitt (Jessica); his grandchild Cadence Noelle Schmitt; his brothers, Howard Schmitt (Deborah), Richard Schmitt (Valerie) and Michael Schmitt; and his sister-in-law Debra. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Anthony M. Musmanno Funeral Home (941 McCoy Rd, McKees Rocks, PA 15136). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Musmanno Chapel (941 McCoy Rd, McKees Rocks, PA 15136).
