He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy J. Sholder (McClintock); his parents, Floyd Sholder and Helen Sholder (Shaffer); and his siblings, Alton Sholder and Connie Bower.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda L. Palmatier of Jersey Shore, Elizabeth I. Fritz (Samuel) of McElhattan and Dawn M. Brague (Randy) of Montoursville; his grandchildren, Shawn Clark (Heather), Shannon Lape (Shawn), Bobbie Packer (Damien), Melissa Palmatier, Cody Brague (Samantha) and Cory Brague; his great grandchildren, Drayton, Devin, Dakota, Gage, Riley, Makayla, Chloe and Cameron; and his sisters, Jerri Haas of Williamsport and Roberta Jameson (Albert) of Trout Run.
