He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold "Whistle" Summerson and Violet Durendetto Summerson; and his siblings, Sylvia Stone and Gary Summerson. He is survived by: his wife Leotta M. Summerson of McElhattan; his children, Eugenia "Jeannie" Lee and Patrick Summerson (Jane); and his stepchildren, Dennis Caprio (Sue), Charlene Rich (Glenn), Tammy Allen (Clay) and Steve Butler (Sis). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and many great, great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Swissdale United Methodist Church through the funeral home.
