It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Stroop of McDonald, Pennsylvania, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 14, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Stroop, Sr. and Rebecca McAfee Stroop Shaffer. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Hennon Stroop; his children, John "Skip" Stroop, Cathleen Donne, Rebecca Peck, Bob Noble, Susan Pompe, Pam Noble, Nora Stroop and Scott Stroop; his grandchildren, Amanda Westcott (Bryan), Samantha Hayges (Stephen), Milena Donne, Hayley Peck, Joel Peck, Chip, Eric and Christopher Stroop; and his siblings, Nancy Yoho and Roy Shaffer. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse or the McDonald Area Food Bank.
