He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Hanks and Phyllis I. Hanks (Wasson). He is survived by: his wife Sandra L. Reed; his son Michael R. Hanks of McConnellstown; his stepdaughter Buffy J. Hicks of Mount Union; his grandchildren, Kelci Burley (Reagan) of North Carolina, Samuel R. Hanks of Shippensburg and Jayden Hanks of McConnellstown; his stepgrandchildren, Nicholas Keller, Chelsea Coburn and Reghan Reeder; and his brother Jere W. Hanks of Hesston.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 6th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, October 7th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, Inc. (417 Washington St, Huntingdon, PA 16652). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 7th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
