He was predeceased by: his parents, Mabel Mellott (Truax) and Thornton D. Mellott, Sr.; his siblings, Rosalie DeShong, William and Sheridan Mellott; and his half-siblings, Ethel Mellott, Melvin, Ross, Roy and Grant Mellott.
He is survived by: his daughter Linda; his grandchildren, Shanda L., Brian A. "Maz" Batdorff, Mandy Richards Hoey and Ryan B.; and his great grandchildren, Luke Mellott, Sydney Mellott, Zeb Henry, Cabe Batdorff, Clayton Garlock, Haley Garlock, Thornton "Carter" Garlock, Lexi Richards and Jenna Richards.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, services and interment at the Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Needmore, PA will be private.
