He was predeceased by: his parents, Olive M. DeShong (Fix) and Harry A. DeShong; his siblings, Betty Christian, Julia Chestnut, William DeShong and Jack A. DeShong, Sr.; and his daughter-in-law Teresa M. DeShong (Baughman).
He is survived by: his wife Mary J. DeShong (Black); his sons, Michael J. DeShong (Donna Rohm) of McConnellsburg, PA and John A. DeShong of Fayetteville, PA; his brother James Nelson DeShong of McConnellsburg, PA; and his grandchildren, Coty J. DeShong (A'Leese Dickerson) of McConnellsburg, PA and Jacquelyn Ann. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
