He was predeceased by: his parents, Olitipa F. Hann (Kline) and Riley J. DeShong. He is survived by: his wife Helen L. DeShong; his daughter Kimberlie S. Hanselman of Marietta, GA; and his granddaughters, Julie Zarra of St. Clair Shores, MI and Melissa Hanselman of Kennesaw, GA..

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a private service was held with Pastor Allann Schmidt officiating.
