He was predeceased by: his father Carl Edward "Speedy" Sterbutzel; and his parents-in-law, Steve and Jane Haky. He is survived by: his mother Judith Ray Fette Sterbutzel of McClellandtown; his wife Jennifer Haky Sterbutzel; his children, Joshua and Danica; his siblings, Carla Franks (Gene) of Masontown, Amy Ryan of Masontown and Carl "Jed" Sterbutzel (Terry) of Perryville, MD; and his sisters-in-law, Kristan Fazenbaker (Steve) of Frostburg, MD, Erica Hancheck (Tom) and Stephanie Haky Georgiana (Larry). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews.
