He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel Kunkel and Lera Conrad Kunkel; and his siblings, Bernie Kunkel and Julia Cary. He is survived by: his children, Joel Kunkel, Jr. (Christine) of Saxonburg and Jana Rohrbach of State College; his close friend Lorene Horning; and his sister Joan Mertz (Boyd) of Northumberland. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
