He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Tessier-Rothamel; and his siblings, Dorothy, Edward and Lillian. He is survived by: his sons, Craig Rothamel of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jason Rothamel (Karen) of Lititz, PA; his stepdaughters, Denise Schiavo and Suzanne Dobson (James) of Baltimore, MD; his grandchildren, Lauren Baldyga, Michael Rothamel (Amanda), Nate Johnson, III, Nick Johnson (Beth), Krysten Schiavo, Zachary Schiavo (Madeline), Matthew Schiavo, Jennifer Dennis (Joshua), Kathryn Cobb (late Brendan), Jamie Encinosa (Mathew) and Lourey Dobson; and his great grandchildren, Chase Baldyga, Carlee Baldyga, Nolan Rothamel, Abigail Rothamel, Samson Johnson, Zion Johnson, Aiden Encinosa and Emmalyn Encinosa.
