He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph W. and Elizabeth Shaffer, Sr. (Rider); and his brothers, Ralph Jr. and Kenneth Richard. He is survived by: his wife Mary Metz; his sister-in-law Carolyn Shaffer; and his nieces and nephews, Paul R. Shaffer (Ingrid), Peter K. Shaffer (Allison), NJ, Juliann Shaffer-Edwards (Daniel), Dauryne Shaffer and Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by 5 great-nieces and nephews.
