He was predeceased by: his parents, Derwin D. Gilbert and Nina M. Gilbert-Donnelly (Lansberry); and his siblings, Betty Litz, Phillip "Lyn" Gilbert and Bill Gilbert.
He is survived by: his wife Martie; his children, George R. Gilbert, Jr. (Tina) of Fishertown and Shari L. Gilbert (Carrie) of Waynesboro; his grandsons, Joshua W. Gilbert and Lucas-Jon Gilbert; and his siblings, Derry Gilbert, Tim Gilbert, Irene Garman and Billy Donnelly.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church (115 E Penn St, Martinsburg, PA 16662). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
