He was predeceased by: his parents, G. Clair Smith and Elda N. Smith (Bossler); his wife Mary L. Acker; his son Max D. Smith; his great grandchild Vincent Reimer; and his siblings, Beatrice N. Slick, S. Madeline Goldberg, Dr. Harold E., Elwood R., James S., Marion B. and George E. Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Annamae Storbeck (Martin Gayton) of Austin, Lottie D. Ebersole (Stephen) of Martinsburg, Cindy M. Snyder (Richard) of Martinsburg, Titus P. Smith (Beverly) of Martinsburg, Lee D. Smith (Pam) of Martinsburg, Joel M. Smith of Martinsburg and Luella R. Stern (Dan Newcomer) of Martinsburg; his daughter-in-law Jeannie Smith of Martinsburg; his grandchildren, John Storbeck (Lina Clarke), Kelsey Storbeck, Kurt Ebersole (Missy), Kim Long (Joshua), Joshua Smith (Mandy), Jordan Smith (Jessica), Jenna Lenhart (Andrew), Lori Reimer (James), Erik Snyder (Jess Metz), Travis Smith (Erin), Jeremy Smith (Heather), Misty Mowry (Ryan), Rebecca Fether (Shane), Andrew Smith (Nichole), Matthew Smith (Mara), Rachel Riley (Tom), Sarah Douglas (Ty), Ethan Stern (Jasmine), Jacob Stern (Katie) and Isaac Stern (Jena); and his sister Genive E. Underwood of Martinsburg. He is also survived by 45 great-grandchildren.
