He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel K. Stern and Barbara Stern (Stoner); his brother Donald; his sister-in-law Ruth; and his granddaughter Shanna.
He is survived by: his wife Joanne Kay Guyer; his children, Brian (Robin) of Roaring Spring, David of Elizabethtown and Rita Murphy (Jim) of Hollidaysburg; his grandchildren, Natasha Etzweiler (Bob), Kara, Sierra, Nathan, Adam, Leah Stern, Colleen and Maria Murphy; his brothers, W. Dean (Lucille) and Wayne; his mother-in-law Evelyn Guyer; and his sister-in-law Vada Stern.
Due to recent COVID-19 regulations and restrictions, services will be held privately.
