He was predeceased by: his parents, John O. Smith and Margaret M. Smith (Smith); his wife Betty L. Smith (Sell); his son-in-law Wayne Ritchey; and his brother-in-law Donald Rettburg.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Pote (Joel) of Woodbury, Kenneth L. Smith (Karen) of Woodbury, Sharon Friedenberger (Max) of Woodbury and John H. Smith (April) of Woodbury; his grandchildren, Shawn Pote (Katie), Jessica Douglas (Brad), Jodie Case (Matt), Ryan Ritchey, Jenna Smith and Hailey Smith; his great grandchildren, Ryan, Leslie, Terry, Ty, Hayden, Myah, Tyler, Jordan and Kylie; his stepgrandchildren, Kristen, Mark and Tawnya Claypoole; and his sister Anna Mae Rettburg of Martinsburg.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Waterside Church of the Brethren (2601 Woodbury Pike, Woodbury, PA 16695).
If so desired, Memorial Contributions in Charles's name may be given to the Waterside Church of the Brethren.
