He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Slater and Beulah McDonald Slater; his wife Pamela S. Carter; his son Christopher Slater; his grandchildren, Charles Paul Slater and Margaret Beulah Slater; and his brother Stephen "Tom" Slater.
He is survived by: his children, Aaron Slater (Jennette) and Emily Renninger (Jason); his grandchildren, Eric, Cody, Emma, Coleman, Brussel, Jacob, Aalidia, Owen and Travis; his great grandchildren, Aurora, Amyra and Magnolia; his brother John "Tim" Slater (Eldeen); his brother-in-law Kevin Carter (Deb); and his parents-in-law, Paul and Margaret Carter.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Ron's name to Forest County EMS Authority to aid in the development of EMS services in the Marienville Area.
