He was predeceased by: his parents, L. Wayne Hilyer and Clara Walker Hilyer; his siblings, Wayne, Jim, Margaret, Joan, Carolyn, Phyllis, Pat, Judy and Jill; and his grandson Brandon Hilyer.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara A. Swartzfager; his children, Brian Hilyer of Lawrenceville, GA, Vernon Hilyer of Clarion and Susan Bickel (Fred) of Marienville; and his brother Ken Hilyer (Kay) of Hadley. He is also survived by four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Graveside services will follow at North Forest Cemetery, Jenks TWP., Forest Co. In leu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marienville UMC, Marienville Vol.
