He was predeceased by: his parents, John Carrafa and Margaret Griffith; his children, Patricia Adams and John T. Adams, Jr.; his granddaughter Ashley N. Adams; his brothers, Robert Mann (Joan) and Elwood Adams; and his brother-in-law Fran Garvey.

He is survived by: his granddaughter Christin Wallace; his great grandchildren, Miracle and Octavia Swanson; his siblings, Eleanor Garvey, Gwen "Dee" Giambri (Nick), Clinton and Joseph Adams (Gail); his sister-in-law Jesse Adams; and his close friend Jeanie. He is also survived by Many nieces and nephews.
