He was predeceased by: his parents, Weston Thornton and Alice Thornton (Olsen); and his son Alan Thornton. He is survived by: his children, Paula Doak (Thomas) of Pine Valley, NY, Ronald Thornton (Donna) of Strongsville, OH, Philip Thornton (Paula) of Murrysville, PA, Jeffrey Thornton (Marea) of Mansfield, PA and Jennifer Thornton of Wilmington, NC. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bakerburg Community Church.
