He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Hicks and Esther Comfort Hicks; his siblings, Maxwell, Lyle, Lorraine, Loren Hicks, Alan Kakretz and Charlene Seymour; and his parents-in-law, Merle, Caroline Sherman Avery, Genevieve Updike and Fran Bolt (David).
He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Roy Hicks, Jr. Davie (Mary) and Karen Ann Layton (Timothy John); his grandchildren, Jennifer, Angela, Samuel Hicks, Jakob and Jared Layton (Corina); his brother James Miller (Nancy); and his siblings-in-law, Linda Kakretz and Norm Seymour.
