He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Steen (Wildin); his sons, William M. "Bud" Steen (Gudrun), Ralph L. Steen (Nicole) and Jonathan R. Steen (Eva Maria); his granddaughters, Erja, Njala and Ajla; and his sister Shelley Ackerman.
