He was predeceased by: his parent Raymond Ness; and his brothers, Ronald Ness and Raymond Ness. He is survived by: his spouse Mary E. Ness (Griffith); his parent Ethel J. Ness (Menche); his daughters, Joelle L. Hevner (Alan) of Red Lion and Christina N. Redmond of Red Lion; his grandchildren, Jared E. Hevner, Jenna E. Hevner, Andrew J. Poff and Randi E. Wolcott (Poff); his great grandchild Skylar E. Wolcott; and his brother Robert Ness. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
