She was predeceased by: her parents, Cloyd F. Shilling and Mary R. Shilling (Baumgardner); her husbands, James Bender and Robert E. Wheeler; her son Joseph E. Mellinger; her stepdaughter Nancy Weese; and her brothers, Charles Miller, Harry F. Shilling and Cloyd W. Shilling.
She is survived by: her children, Robert E. Mellinger (Jane) of Lewistown, Mary R. Spagnoletti (John) of Burnham, Richard A. Mellinger (Peggy) of Lewistown and John H. Mellinger (Laurie) of Lewistown; her stepchildren, David Bender (Penne) of Lewistown, Judy Romig of Lewistown, Barbara Wheeler and Tina Boylard; and her brothers, Kenneth Shilling and James Shilling (Geraldine) of Lewistown. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.
